Congratulations Baby Sam

What a beauteous weekend we had for Sam's Baptism. This isn't his picture, but I can not wait for them to be downloaded. He was very good. And actually when the priest asked the questions he seemed to answer. Do you denounce Satan? All of us said, "I do." And baby Sam seem to try to say, I do. Actually it sounded more like Cher saying, "Aueoww!" Work with me. He made that sound after all the questions. And there were lots of them. Each time. I know what your thinking...... he's advanced. What can I say? Even though Bri would not put on his little Amish-like hat that was absolutely adorable, he still looked cute.
We had Lady Ga-ga here. I mean Great Grandma . Who goes by Gaga for the rest of you. And a whole Ohio entourage that accompanied her. It was truly a special celebration. I actually got teary-eyed when they all left, and when I shared that with Bri she said she did too. I know that Jo and Jaci and Joyce and Sam gave up a day on the road to be here, and we all loved them being here.
Cassie Allen is Abe's Godmother, and she did a great job, with ease and confidence. I think her mother was more nervous than she was. Jerry and Caroline got to sleep in the Thomas the Train bedroom. Uncle Jerry discovered the giant bongo drum when he laid his wallet down and woke up Caroline. Their family of girls are not used to 3 year old boys announcing when they fart, and actually the response of Brianne struck Jerry so funny," Good for you, " she said. Mackenzie wanted to play a game, and I made up a new word of measurement that begins with "N". NINCH. They didn't buy it. And guess who else came ? Christopher Dix from Purdue. How sweet was that? We sent back to his dorm with lots of good Polish food. We want him to come again!
Jake's Mom was great. She made all the food. She really is a wizard in the kitchen. All of Jake's family was there. It was a busy day. It was really wonderful. We are whooped, but on a big high. How lucky are these kids to know that they are so loved by family? That is a true blessing.
And I can not forget my Abe, who was very confused the whole weekend. People were coming with packages and presents, and he had no nap and lots of tears. Poor little guy. Bri pointed out that Jake, Abe and Ozzie all have the same anxieties during family functions. The dog was quite out of sorts also. On Monday morning Ozzie ended up puking in the hallway. Goodness. I donot know what she meant about Jake cause he was great, and worked like a horse.
Thanks to all of our Ohio connection for making the trip . It just made the day more special because you were all there. How many kids get to have their great grandmothers come to their Baptisms? Not many.
