Viva Las Vegas!

Our Christmas present to each other this year was our trip to Las Vegas. I just want to say that we had the best time. Honestly I was just a little Leary of Rob and I going away together, just the two of us. We hadn't done a vacation by ourselves since 1986 or 1987. We went to Jamaica man, and that was great. We were lots younger and whatever, I was skeptical that we would have fun together ALONE.
Well it was so fun and Las Vegas is just so different than Jasper Indiana, (ya think?)
We started off a little rocky. Rob had forgotten his digital camera....So don't expect any great pictures. The airport seemed to have extra security, like army guys carrying big weapons,so that was kind of discerning. We got there in one piece.
The Bellagio is absolutely beauteous, the room was great. My only complaint there was that the bathroom mirror was very high,It was giant, but high. I could barely see my forehead. I know I'm short, but you know, this place is supposed to be Italian. These little old Italian ladies are not big. Let's lower the mirrors people.
Our room overlooked the lake with the dancing fountains, way cool!(If I were Keenan I would do a link here, but I am computer illiterate, sorry)
The bathroom was gorgeous, the pillows were great, and the view was fabulous. It's just that when you go for coffee in the AM , you are at Billagio's so two coffees and two rolls are 30 bucks. Which initially made Mullally crazy. You know him. Well, let's face it...That would make anyone crazy.
And then the gambling.....EEEEEE! It was such an adjustment. Casino in the lobby.I had been there , so I sorta knew, but things had really changed in five years, so I was seeing things differently also.
Rob is so funny, the slots bored him. "This is mindless",until I started winning. So the first day was getting acclimated.
And by the way, Las Vegas is really becoming such an international little hub.... isn't it? There were people from all countries there, many, mnay from China and Japan, but also Russia,Germany,Mexico,France,India...It was amazing. We even saw a family from Ireland, with a bratty little girl who looked about six. The Daddy had just about had it with her. And she was very whiney.....He said to her "Tell it to your congressman."

We also received some special news when we were in Las Vegas. Our little girl is going to have a baby. Can you believe that? It really surprised us. We are getting used to the news....and getting on to Grandparents mode.We are so happy for Brianne and Jake.
