The Big Game

Now I am not a big sports person. I enjoy sports. I have enjoyed my kids participating in their sports very much. I have followed college football and basketball. Basically because my son and my husband have an interest in it. I have never been a big fan of pro sports. I can get into college football and basketball, Especially because we lived in Delaware Ohio, we had the big Ohio State connection for football. That was a lot of fun. Then with Robby being at IU, college basketball was a big focus, cause Indiana is such a basketball state, and Bobby Knight and all that going on.
So here we are facing the Super Bowl. I have been to Super Bowl parties , that I couldn't tell you who was playing. It is a hoopla, no matter what teams are in the mix. This year, I definitely know who is playing, and I have a giant interest in the game.Hello we live in Indiana so of course it's giant.
I have spent several months with Bri and Jake helping them with little Abe. On those Sundays that I arrive in the evening, I have witnessed many Chicago Bear games. Many of them were heartbreakers, nailbiting, clinchers. And I have experienced my son in law sweat through and some clinchers. Jake is a big Bears Fan. He is a Bears fan if they lose and when they win. The Man has Mike Ditka in his house like a shrine. He has a blow up Bears Guy that is bigger than my roof. His son has more Bears sportwear than Urlacher himself.
Now can you imagine the difficulty of a middleschool teacher in Indiana, and his students know what a Bears fan he is. This past week had to be hell for him.
It kinda got on my nerves just watching the news stations talking about the game, and it's not my team. God love him. What I understand is that if Jake were in the region he would be hearing all the good talk the giant build up and all the praise, cause how often does a team get to go to the Super Bowl? And the last time the Bears went, Jake was 5 years old.
The bottom line is.... I am rooting for the Bears, cause Jake has gotten to me Watching the team in the last couple of weeks has been pretty fun. And I really never followed a team that way, but I have enjoyed the games with Bri and Jake. So here I am , Da... Bears, I really hope they pull it off. I know there will be at least one household in Indianapolis that will be totally elated if they win, and if they lose, well it was a great season, and I had a great time watching my son in law be their greatest fan. I have a feeling that little Abe will not be far behind his Daddy rooting for the Bears. So I guess I will just have to watch the games with him, I will so totally love it. Go Bears!!!

P.S. Now if the Bears ever play the Browns in the Super Bowl , sorry Jake I have to root for the Browns. I am sure you understand .
