ND vs OSU
I know, I know what the hell am doing writing anything about football. This is giant. I grew up with Notre Dame football via my Dad. He graduated from Notre Dame. I grew up singing the fight song. My grandma Allen would play it regularly on the piano when she and Grandpa were visiting on Sunday afternoons. My Dad was a Notre Dame cheerleader. (being that he was about5'5" my guess is they could thow him around easily). Although I had witnissed him during my childhood doing a mean back flip. My Mom would say he was just wirey. He was just a cute little guy,who loved Notre Dame, and everything it stood for. Now, my father-in-law graduated from OSU and he,just as my Dad lived and breathed the Bucks. And as long as I have known the Mullally family its been Ohio State all the way. As for Rob and me it didn't hurt that we lived in Buckeye country for seven years of our married life. You really get the spirit of Ohio State in Delaware County which is located just 20 minutes from Colunbus, you know hang on Sloopy, Louie,Louie, and the Danger Brothers.... Get my drift.
So this game has been a big dilemma for me. Jim Tressel who is the coach at OSU now has Youngstown connections. And my neices who played basketball for YSU have very good things to say about the man.So who wins who loses is giant in the fan point of view ,for me it just takes me back to two great guys, Griff and Bob that influenced me temendously in my life. They both are gone now, but I am sure they are both sitting together having a beer and rooting for their teams. The fact that these teams are playing each other is pretty special. I know they both would have loved the chance to see it.
