Abe is here!
Well Abe came on Tuesday August 29th.,so he was a tad bit early. He has ten fingers and ten toes. His hands and feet look very big in proprtion to his little 8lb. 3oz. body.I think he will definitely grow into his hands and feet like a little puppy grows into his paws. He is so alert, when he is awake. Abe looks all around and tries to take everything in. He seems to be eating well although Mommy and Daddy are better judges of that than I am. But it is so great to see this little fella and it's going to be so much fun watching him change , even in the next couple of weeks.
Brianne did a great job during labor. I am so proud of her. And Jake was at her side, being very attentive. We got to see the boy just minutes after he was born. He was already sucking his hand and trying to check out the room.I just feel like the 48 hours that Bri and the baby were in the hospital it felt like a week. Especially when you are awake most of those 48 hours, it really makes you feel like the days are much longer. That's all part of it. And this new little family will work out the details of eating ,sleeping and bathing. Lord knows the kid could change clothes every hour and still not run out of things to wear. Which can turn out to be very fortunate depending on how much clothes washing gets done between feedings and sleep.
The boy is the "splitting image of his father", in the words of a past coworker of mine. But sometimes, just sometimes when I look at him I see a tiny bit of Mullally in his smile. It's hard to say, cause his hair is sorta coming in and his eyes are kinda grey and his head is still shaping up. It will be fun to see him grow. He looks just like Abe Drlich. And that is one precious little baby.
