Happy Howlidays!

The kids blew in on Friday baring gifts and animals. We had our Christmas celebration and we had SO much fun.The traditional French onion soup on Friday, then the big ass country breakfast on Saturday. We have little reminders of our guests here and there and it makes me smile. The smudge marks on the windows from the wet noses, little stuffings of the toys spread in corners of the house, and the pillows and blankets piled up. The preparation is so intense when everyone arrives it is shear joy. My two little grand dogs just don't know what to do with each other. We have to keep them separated until Sidney is not so puppyish or Ozzie becomes more tolerant. They were hilarious.
It certainly is not dull.
If my son-in-law still loves me after this Christmas I will totally be amazed. Every gift he opened turned out to be Robby's. I was so red-faced. He's going to call me Endora fom now on. Poor Jake...he would open a gift and too bad if you like it , it's for my son. That would be an evil witch mother thing to do,but I didn't mean to do it. I must have had serious TIA's with the gift wrapping this year. Sorry Jakey. The only thing that saved me was Bri's laugh, she laughed every time it happened. It was not just one or two things. Hell no! Wait till I'm in my sixties...Big Daddy was giving me serious daggers.I am so glad that Robby and Courtney did such a great job with Jake's gifts, it really took the heat off of me.
Then the poor guy had the "Brianne flu"....so he really didn't want to eat , but God love him...he ate. And then we made him eat raw prime rib......I just feel so bad for him.He munched on crackers and drank cokes throughout the weekend.
I think the doggies liked their gifts though. And it was an adventure we had to play musical doggies, every time one dog wanted up from the basement and the other wanted out...or one wanted to eat, we put the other in the sunroom.....It was hilarious.
And you all know I have mice everywhere. Well the doggies liked picking up my mice and moving them to different locations.Sidney found a furniture part to something that we just can't figure out what or where it came from. It' a mystery.
I do think it was a momentous year. And I just enjoy having activity and young people here. And I love having everyone together. It's just over too quickly. We have such a great little family and we are so lucky that our kids and Jake and Courtney come and be with us.I need to celebrate for a week.I am still trying not to be sad, because when everyone leaves it's such a let down. I refuse to dwell on that.

The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Okay, they have been talking about the snow here for two days. And before it even started snowing today, they closed the schools. It was pretty beautiful once it started coming down.Actually I think there was an accumulation of 3 inches....and it did not melt ....so maybe there was something to fret about.
The snow is more than welcome now for the Christmas season, but as soon as the holidays are done, I have no need for it.
I did enjoy making a nice pot of Chile and writing Christmas cards with the snow tumbling down outside.Especially with all the neighborhood decorations, it put me in the mood for this Christmas holiday.Merry Christmas people!
