It's A Dog's Life

I haven't posted for awhile and I just had to find the words to describe my new job. Granny 9-1-1 as Debbie Beck most appropriately christened me. I love it,it's the best job I ever had. Job description ...love my grandbaby. Not difficult at all. Sleep in Ozzies bed. Now, that"s an adjustment. Not for me. Anyone that knows me, gets that my head hits the pillow and I'm out. It doesn't matter where I am who's house on what bed on what chair, I'm gone. Poor Ozzie didn't understand that not only was a brand new little being taking over the house, but the old bag was coming and taking over his bed. The first night did not go well. Ozzie flipped out when I came to the bed. Either he was drooling, or I surprised him and he wet the bed, or he was pissed, literally, that I was moving in.

Now, I understand that it's been a rough couple of months for the poor dog. He was the main event. He owned Bri and Jake. HE was their baby. He was a 60lbs.doggy that thought he was a lap dog. But this household changed. He saw them bringing in furniture, and equipment that just kept taking up his space. And his parents, while they loved him ,were not as attentive as before.I can just imagine what poor Ozzie is thinking about this whole baby thing.

What was Ozzie thinking?

"Mom has been sick for awhile and was home with me, I like that. But then Mom and Dad are really acting weird, and they left. They have been gone for a long time. The old people came to stay without the parents. And they didn't pay attention like Mom and Dad usually do. Yea, they pet me and stuff, but where were Mom and Dad? When they finally showed up they had this bundle that moved and made noise , and the parents really paid attention to it... ALOT. I'll call him the kid. And this kid just seemed to take over the house. They moved all this stuff in the room I usually hang out in. Then this old lady moves in and takes my bed. (hence the drooling/peeing/whatever) What's up? Our life has changed.

Now when my parents come home, they go straight to the little bundle. Who happens to get louder and bigger every day. I still get my treats, but sometimes they forget. I think this kid has taken my place. And I don't even get to sleep in the bed in the other bedroom now. There's an old lady there. She's okay, but she doesn't love me like my parents used to. She really pays attention to the kid. I get in that bed in the daytime every chance I get. Just to remember how good it feels and to let her know it's really my bed. I sort of like making sure that the kid is okay. So I'll hang out in the hallway, or the room that the baby crib is. And I know he wakes up alot in the night, but it doesn't bother me, I just move to a different room.

So I think the old lady is okay with me sleeping in our bed now. She doesn't kick me out. I have been kicked out of every place, but I am edging my way back in. And The kid is okay with me. He's kinda cute.I have licked his feet and my parents think that's okay. And sometimes he smells good, but other times he smells like sh--. I know my parents love him alot , so I will make sure nothing will ever happen to him. That's my job"
