High Tech Meets jillsym

I don' know if any of my phone buddies have noticed but I have finally come up to 2009 on my texting skills. Well, I should say I am working on them more, since I got a new phone. I love it, Cassie, Jaci, and Mackenzie were giving me grief over my outdated phone, cell phones these days are outdated after a month. Mine was seven years old. So I got a new one. It has all the gadgets. Currently with my babysitting gig, I can work on my skills in between feedings, naps and changing diapers. I have actually taken videos! It's so fun. I know it would haven taken me years to figure it out if I was at home, working and stuff. So I am glad that I can work on it now.
I am probably annoying Rob with my random texts. He is my guinea pig. God love him, I am sure he loves all my little tidbits during his business meetings.
Look what I was missing! I know friends and family have sent me pictures in the past that I never could see. Now I can. And I missed voice messages. My old phone was like back to the future when Martie's family was disappearing from the picture. My time wasn't even correct . So now friends and family I am living in the now, send me all you got. Keep them coming. Thanks to my hip nieces that pushed old Aunt Jillsy to live in the NOW. I do expect them to keep me updated with their lives. And to promise to keep me current , even when I'm old and gray. Wait a minute... I am gray, I just try to keep it covered, and that ain't working too well either. Maybe they can help me with that too some day.

DWTS

Well can you believe that the new season of Dancing With The Stars has begun. I am just beside myself. I just have to say that the judges were way harder on the women than men. That said Tracy May, as I kept calling her, or really Macy Gray, seemed a little bit sedated, but I still thought she did a great job. Kathy Ireland looked amazing, but , she's gone tomorrow. I loved Donny Osmond, of course, but he even seemed to be trying a little bit too hard , he blamed it on "All That Jazz". Which cracks me up, cause I can't tell you any other song that any of the dancers used during their performances, I am totally a Donny Osmond freak. I just love the whole thing.
Jake actually has an interest this year, "the Iceman" he is one of his favorite fighters. I think from my previous stint at the Drlich household, I somehow got Brianne hooked. Not really , but she will watch some of it with me.(She is probly being polite cause I watch Sam, and he's been teething ) She is more of a fan of If You Think You Can Dance. She got me hooked on that one too.
There is another night for eliminations, which again cracks me up....a third night of DWTS, wait till they have a whole week! What can they throw in there for another night for we old bags will tune in. Oh well it' s no different for American Idol, just keep the fans tuning in night after night. Going in another direction, I still do not buy the Paula Abdul thing. I am sure they have something for her. Ellen will be great as a judge, but there's something gonna come up for Paula. I mean look at Latoya Jackson, she's everywhere now, talks shows and even co-host The View. They will definitely find a place for Paula.
Anyways, I am on a Dancing with the stars high. Maksum and Katerrrrina broke up. He is hot and very testosterone like. Katerina is cute. Did you see them on the Emmy's? they were so good. Even after the big break up.They had to dance together How profressional they are!?
It reminded me of when I was is the seventh grade and Rob and I had broken up on Saturday. He was an alter boy serving Mass on the next Sunday. I went to communion and he was assisting the priest with the gold thingy. A whole pew of our friends moaned "Oh no." But he was professional, he had a job to do. He even tapped my throat with the gold thingy , (that's what the cool guys @ St. Christine's School did to their friends when they serving.) He just had to do his job. Although Rob and I got back together, and you all know the beautiful happy ending we had. And still have. I truly do not think there is any hope for Maksum and Katerina. Yes, that is how I view my 7th grade love with Rob......it works for me. That's why I love Dancing With The Stars.

Congratulations Baby Sam

What a beauteous weekend we had for Sam's Baptism. This isn't his picture, but I can not wait for them to be downloaded. He was very good. And actually when the priest asked the questions he seemed to answer. Do you denounce Satan? All of us said, "I do." And baby Sam seem to try to say, I do. Actually it sounded more like Cher saying, "Aueoww!" Work with me. He made that sound after all the questions. And there were lots of them. Each time. I know what your thinking...... he's advanced. What can I say? Even though Bri would not put on his little Amish-like hat that was absolutely adorable, he still looked cute.
We had Lady Ga-ga here. I mean Great Grandma . Who goes by Gaga for the rest of you. And a whole Ohio entourage that accompanied her. It was truly a special celebration. I actually got teary-eyed when they all left, and when I shared that with Bri she said she did too. I know that Jo and Jaci and Joyce and Sam gave up a day on the road to be here, and we all loved them being here.
Cassie Allen is Abe's Godmother, and she did a great job, with ease and confidence. I think her mother was more nervous than she was. Jerry and Caroline got to sleep in the Thomas the Train bedroom. Uncle Jerry discovered the giant bongo drum when he laid his wallet down and woke up Caroline. Their family of girls are not used to 3 year old boys announcing when they fart, and actually the response of Brianne struck Jerry so funny," Good for you, " she said. Mackenzie wanted to play a game, and I made up a new word of measurement that begins with "N". NINCH. They didn't buy it. And guess who else came ? Christopher Dix from Purdue. How sweet was that? We sent back to his dorm with lots of good Polish food. We want him to come again!
Jake's Mom was great. She made all the food. She really is a wizard in the kitchen. All of Jake's family was there. It was a busy day. It was really wonderful. We are whooped, but on a big high. How lucky are these kids to know that they are so loved by family? That is a true blessing.
And I can not forget my Abe, who was very confused the whole weekend. People were coming with packages and presents, and he had no nap and lots of tears. Poor little guy. Bri pointed out that Jake, Abe and Ozzie all have the same anxieties during family functions. The dog was quite out of sorts also. On Monday morning Ozzie ended up puking in the hallway. Goodness. I donot know what she meant about Jake cause he was great, and worked like a horse.
Thanks to all of our Ohio connection for making the trip . It just made the day more special because you were all there. How many kids get to have their great grandmothers come to their Baptisms? Not many.

My Abe Is Such A Big Boy

I can not get over how quickly Abe has turned from a baby to a boy. I know that sounds funny, but it seems like over night he is able to make decisions, relay feelings, and has become very persuasive.
Those years as a tottler are very difficult. Lot's of learning of social skills and independence.
I do not like him being so grown up. I miss my baby Abe.

I know I have no choice, and I also have little Sam to fill the void, it's just sort of sad, but so amazing to experience. He doesn't let me cuddle him, 's too big. He will let me give him a hug when he leaves for school. I think he really appreciates me taking care of Sam. That just gives Abe more on on one with his parents. He's quite happy seeing me feed his brother and his parents ca read him book or play cars with him.
I had to laugh the other day I was playing with Sam. I was taking toy and shaking it in front of his little face. In my most annoying baby talk voice I said over and over, "What do you want? What do you want? What do you want?" Abe looked at me and said , "He wants that duck!"

Abe has had to handle a lot in the last few months. He has become a big brother. He has mastered the potty thing. ( Just about) Then going back to school after spending extra time with Mom when the baby came and Dad for all summer, he has been missing all his time with them being gone all day . I do think you are adjusting to your brother just fine. Yesterday I heard you say that Sam could be your deputy. How cute is that? I'll remind you of that when you boys are in High school and become partners in crime.

I know that it's been such an adjustment in Abe's little life going from number one to...... hold on, I'll help you in a minute, but believe me little guy, you'll really appreciate having a brother when your older, so your parents won't be all wrapped up in your business all the time....just direct them to Sam.
