The smartest thing you wear is your hair

Well I am going to a new hair dresser today. This is traumatic. For those of us who have relocated several times, finding a hairdresser is right up there with finding a new physician or dentist. Actually I have misstated it is way more important than the latter two. You may be sick and have bad teeth but your hair needs to be "bangin". Finding a hairdresser is especially difficult the older you get. You have the color factor, cover the grey, plus matching a color that looks natural, not fake. Preferrably unlike Little Orphan Annie fiasco of last month. You have the old bag factor, you don't want to look too trendy but more importantly you don't want to look like great grandma helmet head either. A big clue for the old bag look is when the four ladies before you all have the same cut, you know the bubble cut that Barbie sported in the early sixties. Okay maybe I deserve the old bag cut if I know about Barbie doll hair styles of the sixties. I was VERY young then, and my older sisters had those dolls. Right, that's it.
So here I go putting my hair in new hands again.

My birthday Month

I just realized that I really haven't commented on my B-day. It was so cool. First of all I was at the Outer Banks, secondly I was with both kids, and thirdly Big Rob shocked the hell out of me by giving me a diamond ring. He really surprises me in my old age. He actually had to plan ahead and carry the thing cross country and didn't lose it,for God's sake. You don't understand this man loses his glasses ,wallet ,and checkbook on a regular basis. And then he was asking me all these questions about watches and even had me look on the internet at ones he thought I would like. This man continues to amaze me daily. It was truly a special b-day,I got a Celtic cross, and my little mice and diamonds! All the things I love. Do these people know me or what?
And I am saying my birthday month because presents and cards are slowly trickling in. Which is cool also. You know you need to take in account the age factor. And those of us who are over 40 don't remember dates as easily as we once did.(and for sure I am included in this group) Poor Sam Buzzacco, for years I thought his birthday was Aug 2,and I' just getting a grip that it's in June,I think. Well I have really had a wonderful birthday month and I am ready to move on to the next poor old soul that has gotten one more year older, because it is August now,and we have many other people to celebrate. My anniversary is in August, but big Rob has reminded me that the ring is also for my 29 anniversary, which is absolutely okay with me. Don't tell him but as far as I am concerned this counts for the big 3-0 too. After all these years ,who'da thought?
